Pitru Dosh Shanti
This puja is traditionally performed with the intention of seeking relief from Pitru Dosh and other ancestral influences that are believed to create repeated disturbances in different areas of life. Through Pind Daan, Tripindi Shraddha, Tarpan and prescribed Vedic rituals, prayers are offered for the peace and satisfaction of departed ancestors. Devotees perform this anushthan with the belief that when ancestral duties remain incomplete or certain Shraddha karmas have not been performed properly, their spiritual impact may continue to be felt within the family lineage. The puja therefore focuses on respectfully remembering the ancestors, completing the prescribed offerings and praying for their peace, while also seeking greater balance and positivity within the family.
Ancestral Peace & Pitru Tripti
One of the primary intentions of this puja is to pray for the spiritual peace, satisfaction and upliftment of departed ancestors. On Sarva Pitru Amavasya, devotees traditionally remember not only known ancestors but also those whose exact tithi or details may no longer be remembered within the family. Pind Daan, Tarpan and Shraddha rituals are performed with श्रद्धा as symbolic offerings of gratitude and remembrance. The anushthan is undertaken with the devotional belief that sincere ancestral worship brings peace to the departed souls and strengthens the spiritual connection between present and previous generations. This makes the ritual especially meaningful for families wishing to honour their lineage and fulfil their traditional Pitru Kartavya.
Relief from Recurring Life Obstacles
In traditional belief, repeatedly occurring difficulties such as delays, instability, sudden disruptions or situations that remain unresolved despite continuous effort are sometimes associated with ancestral karmic influences. This puja is performed with a sankalp seeking relief from such recurring obstacles and greater stability in life. Through Tripindi Shraddha, Pitru Tarpan and other prescribed rituals, prayers are offered for the resolution of ancestral imbalance and for smoother progress in personal, professional and family matters. The purpose is not to guarantee a specific outcome, but to perform the traditional spiritual remedy with devotion while seeking blessings for clearer pathways, fewer repeated disturbances and greater overall harmony.
4. Family Harmony & Kul Kalyan
Pitru rituals are traditionally connected with the welfare of the entire family lineage rather than only one individual. This puja includes prayers for Kul Kalyan, mutual harmony, protection and well-being across the family. Devotees often undertake such rituals when there are persistent disagreements, emotional distance, instability or recurring concerns within the household. By remembering the ancestors with gratitude and performing the prescribed Shraddha karmas, the family seeks their blessings for unity, peace and prosperity. The spiritual intention is to create a more balanced family environment and strengthen the sense of connection across generations.
Stability in Career, Finances & Personal Life
Devotees may perform Pitru Dosh Shanti rituals while praying for greater stability in areas where progress appears repeatedly interrupted. Traditional beliefs sometimes associate persistent delays in career, business, finances, marriage or other important life matters with unresolved ancestral influences. During the puja, the sankalp may include prayers for the removal of such obstacles and for blessings that support steadiness and positive progress. The ritual focuses on ancestral peace first, while the devotee simultaneously seeks grace for a more stable and balanced journey in important areas of life.
Spiritual Peace & Fulfilment of Pitru Kartavya
Performing Shraddha, Pind Daan and Tarpan is traditionally regarded as an important act of remembrance and duty toward departed ancestors. This puja gives devotees an opportunity to express gratitude to those who came before them and to fulfil their Pitru Kartavya through prescribed Vedic rituals. Beyond seeking relief from difficulties, the ceremony can carry deep emotional and spiritual significance for families who wish to honour their ancestors with sincerity. The process of sankalp, offerings, prayers and remembrance may bring a sense of spiritual completion, inner peace and connection with one’s family lineage, especially when performed on the sacred occasion of Sarva Pitru Amavasya.
